Life isn’t always just happenstance.
Sometimes our destiny is created by the choices we make.
What if you didn’t know the decision you made would determine whether you lived or
died?
Elouise “Lou” Murphy is a homicide detective in Little Rock, Arkansas whose significant
other, Benji has recently left her because she works too much, having no time left over
for him and his needs. She desperately tries to reconnect with him and work things out.
Incidentally, she also has the BRCA 1 mutation — a gene known to cause breast
cancer and she struggles with the knowledge that having that gene was a death
sentence for her mom. It is past time for her routine mammogram, and she has missed
her last appointment. But Elouise is the same age her mom was when she was initially
diagnosed with breast cancer and it scares her. Plus, she is too busy right now solving a
murder to get it done.
Even though her personal life is falling apart, she struggles to focus on her job and
solve the gruesome crime of a young Registered Nurse, Lana Harper, who was found
brutally murdered in her own home. Who could have wanted her dead? What was the
motive? Elouise won’t stop until she finds out who did it, and justice is served.
In the meantime, will Elouise be able to make the right decisions and get her life back
on track?
Or will fate intervene, making the decision for her?
